"Condo?! Seriously?" Amelia slammed the letter onto the counter, the force making her chipped mugs rattle. She felt a throbbing ache in her temples, a constant companion these days. Every morning felt like climbing Everest.

She surveyed her apartment, the same four walls she’d stared at for years, now a symbol of displacement. The idea of moving, of finding a new home, of packing and unpacking, made her feel faint. The thought of anything more… it’s just too much. She sank onto the stool, her gaze unfocused. Everything felt distant, like she was watching a movie of her own life.
